Privacy Policy

Updated October 23, 2022

Due to the nature of our business, we are sensitized to the need to protect your personal information and the ways that such information may be used, accessed and stored.

Your privacy is important to us, and we take several steps to protect it under the privacy laws in the United States (federal and state law), Canada (PIPEDA), the European Union (GDPR and the Member State implementations of GDPR) and other jurisdictions worldwide.

This Privacy Policy sets forth the policies of Segal Coaching LLC (“SC”) regarding information collected and stored directly from clients and self-identified prospective clients and through www.AnneMarieSegal.com, www.SegalCoachingAcademy.com, www.Segal247.com and/or the other sites and services listed below. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy and the treatment of personal identifiable information, any member of a program or workshop sponsored by SC will be treated as if such person is a “client.”

If you wish to interact with SC as a client or prospective client or interact directly with any of the sites or services, please read this Privacy Policy which governs use and storage of your personal information.

If you are accepting this Privacy Policy on behalf of an enterprise, organization or business then you agree and accept that this Privacy Policy will be binding on all of your personnel who use this site or any Learning Program, whether they have directly entered their information on this site or it was entered on their behalf to enroll them in a program for your organization.

If you do not consent to this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use of this site, any other sites hosted by SC, the services and any associated third-party sites or media. If you have any comments or questions, please contact SC at the email address listed below.

SC endeavors to limit its third-party vendors to those that provide robust privacy protections. If you have reason to believe that there has been a breach of security or misuse of any of the sites or services, please let us know. SC does not provide or sell any information to third parties, other than specific sharing of certain client information, which is shared with the express consent of any such client.

Website Use

SC does not collect personally identifying information from visitors to this site unless voluntarily and knowingly submitted by the visitor (e.g., by means of a contact form or blog comment).

Information provided through your use of this site will only be used to (1) notify you or respond to your requests or (2) anonymously measure traffic and visitor patterns at this site.

SC does not currently use “cookies” (small pieces of data sent to your computer browser from some web servers and stored on your computer’s hard drive to remember your information). SC also believes that any service provider on which it relies that may use cookies does not store or provide SC or third parties with any personally identifiable information about its users.

This website is maintained on WordPress.com, a service of Automattic. SC has requested heightened privacy measures from Automattic via its Data Processing Agreement.

Website Comments

If you choose to add a comment to any posts published on this site, the name and email address you enter with your comment will be stored, along with your computer’s IP address and the time and date that you submitted the comment.

Only your name will be shown on the post seen by the public, although if the supplied email address is linked to a Gravatar account, your Gravatar photo will also be displayed. Any other information collected is used only to identify you as a contributor to the comment section of the respective blog post and is not passed on by SC to any third-party data processors (although it may be stored and used by Automattic pursuant to its privacy policies).

Your comments and their associated personal data will remain on this site until the comment or post is removed. You are able at any time to request that such removal by contacting SC at the email or physical address below.

SC does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from any person under the age of 18. If SC is informed that personally identifiable information has been collected from a person under the age of 18, it will remove such data from its records.

Newsletters

SC uses an email management service called Mailchimp to manage all newsletter email communications. You can opt out of email communications via the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email, or you can send an email to SC directly at privacy@segalcoaching.com to request to be unsubscribed and deleted from SC’s Mailchimp database.

Scheduling

Appointments can be made by contacting SC directly or through a third-party system (YouCanBook.Me).  Personal information provided on such system may include, at a minimum, your name, e-mail address and phone number. The provision of this information is mandatory to book an appointment through this system. A user also has the option to add the appointment to their online calendar with YouCanBook.Me.

If an appointment is booked directly through SC, such appointment may be scheduled via Google Calendar.

Contract Execution and Payment Processing

SC uses DocuSign to improve the efficiency of contract execution. If you complete and execute a contract with SC, DocuSign will collect your personal information.

Except as described below, SC uses PayPal, a third-party processor, to process all online payments. SC does not accept or retain any financial information such as credit card numbers. All such information is provided directly to PayPal, whose use of your personal information is governed by its privacy policy.

If any client in his/her/their/its sole discretion requests to use another method to make a payment, SC may choose to honor this request and suggests that, prior to making any such payments, clients familiarize themselves with the privacy and other terms thereof.

Text Messaging

SC may use limited text messaging to communicate with current clients and individuals who have self-identified as prospective clients. SC does not use text messaging for marketing of any kind.

Client and Prospective Client Documents

SC may use Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint or (in more limited cases) Google Docs, Sheets or Slides to provide or present information to clients and/or keep track of client information (including, without limitation, for any self-certification of hours to the International Coaching Federation). SC may also use Adobe Acrobat to view and edit Portable Document Format (PDF) documents.

In addition, due to the mobile nature of SC’s business, client and prospective client information and files may be kept in a cloud-storage or other file-sharing accounts provided by one or more of the leading service providers worldwide. Clients may contact SC at any time for more information about such accounts and the storage of their information.

Videoconferencing

SC uses Zoom for the majority of its videoconferences, although it may also utilize other videoconferencing services at a client’s express request and risk. SC does not record any meetings without the express consent of the participants of such meeting and as of the date above does not provide any client information to Zoom for the purposes of scheduling meetings (although it reserves the right to do so in the future). SC requires a password and utilizes a “waiting room” to protect the privacy of videoconferences.

Social Media / Social Networking Sites

SC’s service may include interfaces that allow you to connect with social media sites (each an “SNS”). If you connect to a SNS through its service, your data may be accessed, used and stored based on your settings on that SNS. SC may access, use and store that information in accordance with this policy. You can revoke our access to the information you provide in this way at any time by amending the appropriate settings from within your account settings on the applicable SNS.

SC may use LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and/or other social media sites. Please read each site’s privacy policy before sharing any personally identifiable information on the respective site or app.

Programs

SC currently offers online learning programs at each of (1) Segal Coaching Academy via Thinkific and (2) through December 31, 2022, Segal247.com via Teachable. Any personal information provided to Thinkific or Teachable, as the case may be, by an individual in order to access such courses or otherwise may be stored on its servers or in a database maintained by SC.

Surveys

SC may generate surveys of clients, prospective clients, active subscribers to its newsletter or users of its website via SurveyMethods. No personally identifiable information will be provided to SurveyMethods or stored other than information inputted directly by the recipient of such survey (or his/her/their/its delegate).

Eventbrite

SC may use Eventbrite from time to time to allow enrollment in its workshops, speaker series and other programs and events. Any personal information provided to Eventbrite by an individual in order to access such programs or events or otherwise may be stored on its servers or in a database maintained by SC.

Client Relationship Management (CRM)

As of the current date, SC does not use CRM, although it reserves the right to do so in the future. SC previously did use a CRM system and as of June 2018 requested its prior vendor to delete all personally identifiable information that had been stored.

Storage of Information

In addition to the above, SC may directly store personally identifiable information for a period of time in one or more forms, including cloud-based storage from a reputable storage provider. Use of any submission form on this site requires any visitor who submits personal information to consent to such storage.

Clients consent to such storage by any of the following means: generating email correspondence to SC, requesting or accepting a services agreement or terms of conditions or payment of fee for services.

The GDPR of the European Union or other applicable law may allow the above consent to be revoked (see below for information on how to contact us with such a request).

Our website contains links to third-party sites, including third-party podcasts or webinars in which Anne Marie Segal has participated. Please be aware that SC is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such other sites.
