I am Anne Marie Segal, an executive coach, author, career and leadership strategist, speaker and resume writer. For 15 years prior to coaching, I was a practicing attorney with an Am Law 100 firm, a private equity/hedge fund and two smaller law firms (one of which was my own). To read my career transition story, please click here.

Since launching Segal Coaching LLC in 2015, I have coached hundreds of professionals on career exploration, transition, advancement, interview preparation and personal branding (including resumes and LinkedIn). My strongest suit is to help clients recognize and present their personal value propositions. (Please see my books for more on this point.)

My coaching practice builds on lessons learned during 15 years as a practicing attorney representing hedge funds, banks, private equity and venture capital players, startups, project finance sponsors and funders, non-profits and individual clients on corporate, employment, intellectual property, compliance and other matters.

I am a Certified Career Management Coach (CCMC) and currently working toward my Professional Career Coach (PCC) certification with the International Coaching Federation. For more information about my professional background, please visit my LinkedIn profile, or for a shorter blurb, click here.

Areas I Facilitate

The top three areas I facilitate for clients and workshop participants are:

  • Leadership Presence
  • Impactful Communications
  • Graceful Transitions

How I Coach

My main goal as a coach is for my clients to earn a high return on their investment in the coaching process. Put simply, I work with clients on simplifying the process so they can take action to move forward on their path. Often the first action is to clarify what that path is, whether or not it seemed obvious prior to coaching.

My coaching style blends active listening with gentle but straightforward feedback so my clients can effectuate the change they seek in their lives. Clients come to me for the more traditional role of a career coach in the midst of a job search or business coach in the launch or growth of a business, but also to keep on track during other critical points in their working lives.

My coaching practice has grown out of, and leverages my insights from, my interactions with colleagues and clients during these years. Many of my clients were high-end executives or fund managers, wanting to maximize value with minimal time input, so I am familiar with that world. On the other hand, they often looked to me to help them stay centered, connected and grounded, especially during challenging times.

How I Write

My main goal as a resume writer is to help you find and communicate your value to your main audience, which is often the interviewer and hiring manager/committee. Too often resumes are simply a laundry list of what a candidate has done rather than a marketing document designed to help one’s audience picture the candidate in the new role and feel compelled to make it happen.

My writing process includes a resume interview session with each client so that I can understand the client’s vision and goals, as well as the client’s experience and background that supports the message to be communicated.
